Did you buy Smash+Grab? You can 'grab ' a refund

Smash and Grab was an online multiplayer game that pitted gangs of crooks against one another in a bid to rob loot, beat the crap out of each other and compete for points in a dystopian entertainment platform of the future. It was a neat idea, but apparently not neat enough to sustain the developer, United Front Games, which recently announced its closure.

Obviously that's left owners of the game rather frustrating, since the experience they paid hard cash for is no longer available. Fortunately then, those gamers can now grab themselves a refund and it doesn't matter how long they owned or played the game for.

"A huge thank you to everyone who played and bought Smash + Grab over the last several weeks," a studio spokesperson wrote on Steam. "We hope everyone had a great time playing."

"As we will not be doing any further development or support, we have asked Valve to make refunds available to any owners who request them, regardless of how many hours played."

It's a real shame that this game didn't get much of a chance to get off of the ground. In development for a couple of years, the multiplayer looting simulator was only first shown off in August and was still in the early stages of development. Who knows what it might have become if given more time.

Early previews suggested it was quite a fun experience, so it may well have turned out to be quite a crowd pleaser.
