A teaser trailer for the Streum On developed FPS of Space Hulk: DeathWing has now been revealed, showing a red eyed terminator stalking the corridors of a derelict space ship. Before the video cuts out, we hear the tell tale skittering of the Tyranids, followed by the bark of a storm bolter.
This is all we get to see today, and not surprising, as it is a teaser, however it doesn't give me a lot of confidence for the game. The worry with a Space Hulk FPS, is that it's going to be a cramped, corridor shooter/meat grinder, with marines spraying down on advancing aliens and being wiped out with ease if they ever get up close.
This is the board game and overtop strategy game in a nutshell and that works when you're controlling multiple marines, but if you're simply a lone terminator, it might not be as tense.
Of course Bioshock 2 put players in the shoes of a big armoured super soldier in confined quarters, so maybe this won't be so bad, but it seems like an odd part of the Warhammer 40,000 universe to adapt to an FPS.
What do you guys reckon?
