Good luck getting yourself a Pip-Boy, Bethesda isn't making any more

The Pip-Boy is one of the most sought after accessories for video game enthusiasts and was made available as part of the Collector's Edition for the upcoming Fallout 4. Some individuals, like Dan Bull, previously received one by way of thank you from Bethesda, but even those may be restricted moving forward.

Due to the demand for the wrist mounted device - which you can put your phone into for real-life-like functionality - Bestheda recently went to see its manufacturer to look at increasing production, but was told that due to other commitments it had reached capacity and would not be able to produce any more in the needed time frame.

"We'd go back to [the factories] and say, 'Demand for this is insane, we've got to make more,'" Hines said. "And they'd move other projects off or shift stuff to other factories and it just came to [them telling Bethesda], 'Final answer: sorry, this is as many as we can make,'" Bethesda said in a statement.

Previously it had already gone back to the factory and had them switch around projects or push back others to make sure as many Pip-Boy's were created as possible, but eventually the manufacturers had to give prevalence to other projects and put any future production extensions on hold.

So if you ordered a Collector's Edition already, you should be able to get your Pip-Boy on release day, but good luck getting one for anything less than a few hundred dollars on Ebay if you didn't.
