Halo 5: Guardians Resolution Changes Dynamically

In order to avoid stuttering, some games adopt a dynamic graphics quality system which reduces graphics fidelity when frame rate starts dropping. Instead of sacrificing visual effects, Halo 5: Guardians will utilize a dynamic resolution system where it runs at a lower resolution in performance-demanding sections.

"In much of the campaign you may be playing at 1080p, but when we want to get really crazy with vehicles, visual effects and combat we can trade some of the resolution in order to maintain the crucial 60fps," wrote Justin Dinges, campaign environment art lead. "Without this system, we would need to either reduce the scale of our most intense combat encounters or lower the quality of content across the game in order to stay at 60 fps at all times."

Halo 5: Guardians is scheduled for release on October 27th, exclusively on Xbox One
