We already know that The Phantom Pain will be Hideo Kojima's final crescendo with the Metal Gear series. Reports have been around for months now that Konami and Kojima will sever ties after the game's launch next September and some reports claimed that both parties are not at good terms.
While Konami still maintains that it has no quarrel with Kojima and that he is in full control of The Phantom Pain, the studio has removed all references to the Japanese game director from the game's packaging.
Yesterday, Konami revealed an updated version of The Phantom Pain's cover art. The new design does nothing more than removing the text "A Hideo Kojima Game" as well as the Kojima Productions studio logo.
