It may be some time before we can really confirm any of the details from the supposed Mass Effect: Andromeda leak that took place over the weekend. The source is said to be one of the inside variety, so should have access to this sort of material, but we're bundling every news piece on this with a side order of salt as it really is rumors of rumors at this point.
Still, it's fun to speculate, especially with a series as iconic as Mass Effect, so what does Andromeda say we can expect next?
AI teamates will feature as before and there will be an expanded use for the Omnitool. Players will have jetpacks equipped for faster movement, presumably in combat though that hasn't been specified. Cover is said to be more destructible than before.
First person space travel is said to be possible, which would open up a lot of explorative elements, though it seems unlikely due to needing to create a whole new branch of gameplay for something that would likely be dull for the most part. There will however be a part of the ship you can visit during transit where you can hang out and chat to crew as you've done in previous ME games.
Aesthetically, we're told that the game features much improved facial models, though considering it will have been several years since ME3s release when this one comes out, we'd expect a nice visual bump.
What do you think of the leak? Does it taste salty to you, or will there be some reality to this when we finally get a look at the game?
