Monster Hunter: World continues to see incremental feature and content updates as 2019's gaming scene kicks off proper and the latest one adds support for ultrawide monitor aspect ratios. Although Capcom has made it clear that cutscenes in the game will continue to show at only 16:9, those with double wide monitors can now take full advantage of their immersive panels in the most popular Monster Hunter game that Capcom has ever made.
Monster Hunter: World has been available on consoles for over a year and on PCs for just under six months and throughout that time has seen a number of new content releases. We've had new monsters like the Deviljho, Kulve Taroth, Lunastra, and tempered and arch tempered versions of everything from mid-level monsters to Elder Dragons.
Along the way we've also seen new armor sets, weapons, and features added to the game. Ultrawide support in the 21:9 aspect ratio is the latest of those, but it doesn't come alone. Capcom has also added a new vignette effects option in the advanced graphics menu. Instead of offering an on/off toggle it will instead come with low/medium/high options.
The vignette is the darkening around the screen that you see when a monster tries to shake your hunter off, or when you're hiding from a monster and they lose track of you.
Also added in this 5.1 update is the ability to use push to talk with the in-game voice chat function and a number of bug fixes.
More content updates will appear in the coming weeks, including a new arch tempered Kushala Daora, followed by an arch tempered Xeno Jiva and Zorah Magdaros.
