Nintendo's recently released 3DS handheld have moved a record number of units on its launch day, but it seems that it has lost momentum since then.
"Based on our recent checks, we believe that sales of the 3DS have slowed considerably since the initial launch window," Lazard Capital Markets's senior analyst Colin Sebastian said.
The 3DS was launched in USA on March 27th but Nintendo didn't reveal its first week sales numbers yet and was content with stating that the 3DS enjoyed the highest day-one sales of any handheld in the company's history.
Analysts predict that the new handheld have sold between 500,000 and 750,000 systems in the U.S. to date and expect it to sell 11.6 million units worldwide by the end of calendar year 2011.
