The long-awaited new DLC for Total War: Warhammer III has been announced, and it's aimed at three of the game's most destructive races. The Greenskins, Khorne, and Ogre Kingdoms will all get new content in the Omens of Destruction DLC, due out in December 2024.
News in brief
- Newest Warhammer III DLC will focus on Greenskins, Khorne, and Ogre Kingdoms
- DLC packs will include a number of new named lords and units
- Releases on December 12
While the Greenskins and Ogres are pretty exciting in their own rights, all eyes are on Khorne's new additions — and it's entirely because you can't beat blood-red daemons covered in blood and skulls where the Rule of Cool is concerned. The headline act here is Skulltaker, Khorne's almighty champion, who gets powered up as he collects more skulls from individual legendary lords of other races. Joining him will be a bunch of other daemons eager to reap in the name of the Blood God, including the stompy Slaughterbrute, Bloodbeasts, Wrathmongers, Skullreapers, Khorngors, and a pair of legendary heroes too.
For the orc and Goblin Greenskins players, Gorbad Ironclow will be joining the fray. An Orc of legendary status, Gorbad is known for uniting the disparate and warring Greenskin tribes and very nearly wiping out the entirety of humanity in the Warhammer Fantasy world. Coming along with him will be the customary new units, joining the tide of green horrors that already exist in the game.
Last, but certainly not least, is Golgfag Maneater, a notorious ogre-for-hire who'll be accepting contracts on anyone and everyone who needs a crumpin' from a gigantic bunch of brutes. Interested in playing a mercenary in a fantasy world? Then he's the legendary lord for you. As with the two above, Golgfag will also be coming with new units and heroes.
Omens of Destruction is currently available on Steam wishlist. It will be released on December 12, and will be able to be purchased as individual race packs, or as a combined whole. It will land at the same time as the game's 6.0 patch, and while we're yet to see what that patch will include, expect some radical overhauls to come to some of the game's older races to bring them up to the level of the newer races.
