Mario Maker has been a big success since Nintendo figured out it would be easier to let its players make levels for its Mario games than trying to do it itself. Making additions to the platform has proved pretty popular too, with the latest batch adding Pokemon themed suits that turn Mario into the likes of a Bulbasaur, Charmander or Squirtle.
Not only are the sprites reminiscent of the original Pokemon games, but their sounds are cribbed straight from those Game Boy titles too, giving you a hit of nostalgia everytime one of them shows up.
There's not much to them beyond the look of them, no powers, or added abilities, but they are rather cute. To unlock the new costumers, you need to clear a special event course and use the different costumes to unlock the alternatives.
Now if only we could get an actual Pokemon game on the Wii U, it would completely reinvigorate that console. If Nintendo isn't planning something like that for its NX it would be a poor move.
Pokemon Go does look cool though.
