Taking disc size and hardware specs in consideration, it made sense to some that Activision decided to nix the single player campaign from Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. After all, lots of last-gen console gamers still bought the game and enjoyed it as a purely multiplayer experience.
Unfortunately, Activision no longer intends to let old-gen players have access to all the multiplayer content offered to their current-gen counterparts.
Activision officially announced that the upcoming "Awakening" DLC pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be released on PlayStation 4 then on Xbox One and PC but not on Xbox 360 or PS3. The pack includes 4 multiplayer maps as well as the first episode of a new "zombies" tale.
Earlier this year, Activision revealed that 12 million people were still actively playing the 3 years old Black Ops 2 on last-gen consoles. It wouldn't be a stretch to expect the majority of those to have bought Black Ops 3.
