We've always felt that Call of Duty is a foremost single player game with a not-so-bad multiplayer mode tacked on. This is about to change however with the release of the first ever multiplayer only Call of Duty.
Activision has revealed that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of its upcoming Black Ops 3 will feature "multiplayer and zombies gameplay only" while the PC, Xbox One and PS4 versions will get to enjoy a single player campaign complete with four player co-op support.
On the Call of Duty community blog, Activision reasoned that the "ambitious scope" of the Black Ops 3 campaign proved too much for old generation hardware, and had to be removed. Furthermore, features such as the weapon paint shop and the new suite of eSports tools will also only be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
