AMD underwent internal restructuring a few weeks ago and created the "Radeon Technologies Group" as an independent unit tasked with overseeing all aspects of graphics technologies used in AMD's products.
Radeon Technologies Groups has decided to start by introducing "Radeon Software Crimson Edition" as a replacement for its current Radeon drivers and its supporting software. Perhaps the most prominent result of this move is that the Catalyst Control Center will be gone for good.
The Catalyst Control Center will be replaced by "Radeon Settings" with cleaner and more intuitive UI and up to 10x faster load time. Or at least, that's what AMD promises.
On the other hand Radeon Settings comes with all sorts of unnecessary bloat we'd come to expect from buzzword-driven software. The Catalyst Control Center replacement includes:
• Game Manager
• Video Quality presets
• Social Media integration
• Simplified EF setup
• System notifications tab
Radeon Software Crimson Edition and Radeon Settings will be released before the end of 2015.
