In addition to new cloth and game mode enhancement, Rock Band 4's January update will reset the leaderboards.
Harmonix had to reset the leaderboards after discovering a "handful of gnarly bugs" and exploits that compromise the integrity of the leaderboards. The game's development team was able to identify and fix the exploits with help from the community, but there was nothing they could do to identify cheaters' scores.
"We know that many of you have worked hard to climb the leaderboards, and that wiping your scores sucks," said Harmonix. "That said, these changes will ensure that in the future, you won’t be unseated from the top spot by someone using an exploit. And if we do discover an issue down the road, we can address it much more quickly and easily."
Only the leaderboard scores will be cleared, without affecting the data in users' local saves. You'll still be able to see your high scores offline, but you won't be able to brag about them online until you re-earn them.
