Rocket League is a huge success story, with a dedicated player base and an ever increasing skill ceiling that just keeps drawing players back in. It's also not a hugely expensive game, but has made tens of millions from direct sales and continually updated DLC packs.
To that end, a new one is coming to the Xbox One exclusively in the near future, crossing over Sunset Overdrive with the car/football mashup. The update will bring with it some unique vehicles, toppers, hats and exhausts inspired by the shooter, with even some sounds that are ripped right from the original game.
Firing off your boost when you have the right one will get the bubbly sound effect that even the original developers can't turn their noses up at.
This DLC pack will come with the release of the game on Xbox One when it does at some point in February. Rocket League has been available on PC and PS4 for some time now already, proving a huge success on both, but mostly on the latter thanks to its inclusion very early on in the PlayStation Plus scheme, making it freely available to millions of gamers around the world.
Rocket League is continuing to expand as an Esports title too, with several thousand pounds going up for grabs for the best teams in the world. Watching some of the pro-plays are awe inspiring in their control of the cars. It's hard to imagine where this game will be in a year's time.
