Metal Gear is a beloved series, and much like the Elder Scrolls, it's finally getting a dedicated online mode on the PC. While Metal Gear Online has been available to PS4 and Xbox One gamers since October, it's now being made available to those on the PC: at least in beta form.
The beta will begin at 10PM PT on January 12, at which point those that want to take part will be able to download the beta release through Steam. You'll need to "opt in," to the beta through your Steam menu, but you probably know how to do that by this point in your gaming career.
You're visiting Megagames after all.
The only caveat is that Konami has said there may be a slight delay to the official launch time, but it will only by a few hours if at all, so be aware that it's probably not worth to be ready, champing at the bit as 10PM rolls around, but it won't be long.
The game has proved reasonably popular online, with some interesting gameplay developed by the strong stealth mechanics being put into a competitive shooter.
