Although Drake made it clear that celebrities playing with streamers can do wonders for a streams numbers recently, that's going to look like peanuts compared to the celebrity pro-tournament that Epic Games is hosting at this year's E3. We're told it will see 50 celebrities go up against 50 pro Fortnite players in a battle royale for your viewing pleasure.
Drake will make his return, alongside Chance the Rapper, Travis Scott, Roseanne Barr and several members of the Toronto Maple Leafs. The full list of celebrities and pro players has yet to be revealed, but considering some of the names already on it, they could be pretty high-level.
The event will be known as the Fortnight Celebrity Pro-Am, taking part in the Fortnite Party Royale Event which will run throughout E3, June 12-June 14. It's not clear yet whether celebrities and pro-players will be making their own teams, though it seems like the fairest system would be to match them up skill wise, or you can see the coolest of celebrities getting drafted first and the pro players teaming up for sheer dominance.
Details for the event are slated to be released in the coming months as we build towards E3 in June, with Epic also stating its intention to reveal the first competitive season of Fortnite play in the near future.
Who do you guys want to see playing at the Pro-Am? And who out of the already announced celebrity players do you think has a chance of getting away with the win?
