Hearthstone has been a runaway success. Blizzard found a way to tap into the casual and competitive card gaming scenes with its turn based, card brawler and since its release in 2014 has gone from strength to strength.
While expansions have been added and new challenge modes created however, one feature that has remained on community wishlists for some time now, has been additional deck slots. As it stands, Hearthstone offers nine slots for custom-made decks and though most players don't actually fill all of them, some people do and are faced with deleting one of their favourites, or not having the new deck they want to build.
Blizzard has finally agreed that they will address this and will add more deck slots for those that want them.
"We're just worried that players who have 18, 30 deck slots can get overwhelmed and forget which one's which." said senior game designer Ben Brode in a chat with PCGamer. "It gets a lot more complicated quickly."
While he didn't say whether Blizzard would add extra deck options, it was later confirmed via Brode's Twitter, where he said "most players don't even have nine decks, but regardless, it's something we're working towards," in a response to player request for more of them.
