Ubisoft recently announced it wouldn't be making any more exclusive games for Nintendo's Wii U, until the Japanese console giant sells more consoles and that's understandable when you look at the sales figures from the last year. It's made very little from the platform, despite several big Wii U games including the launch exclusive, ZombiU.
According to the chart, Wii U game sales make up around 3% of the companies total revenue, which compared with the 20+ percent that the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 are providing, shows how poorly the Wii U is performing.
Ubisoft was one of the few companies to announce big support for the WiiU, with the aforementioned ZombiU, along with a special edition of Arkham City, ports of Assassin's Creed games, Splinter Cell Blacklist, Just Dance 2014 and a handful of others.
It's perhaps most telling, with the fact that Ubisoft makes three times as much from Nintendo Wii games sales, than it does with the WiiU.
Another interesting note in the stats however, is the improvement in PC revenue share for the company from Q1 2012/2013 to this year's Q1. Last year it made just 12% of its revenue from the PC platform, but today that same business is worth 20%.
Some have speculated that this could be because of the company's change in the way it handles DRM, dropping always on requirements from several big games.
