The developer of both the ill-fated Evolve and original Left 4 Dead, Turtle Rock Studios, is working on a new IP. It hasn't made any big announcement to that fact, but it has put an looking for a new animation programmer, specifically hired to work on a new game and a new property.
So don't go hoping for Evolve 2 or Left 4 Dead 3.
While the fact that it's an "unannounced new IP," is news in itself though, what's interesting is that the job description is said to be for creating something "cutting edge... targeting next-generation hardware."
It's not clear if that means new graphical hardware like Nvidia's Pascal and AMD's Polaris, but it could also be next-generation consoles. Perhaps the Nintendo NX, but it would more likely be for a revamped PS4 and/or Xbox One. Perhaps even for next-gen VR hardware.
There's going to be a lot of new stuff coming out in the next few years, so it's hard to tell.
We may learn more soon enough though. Take-Two, the company's publisher, will have its quarterly earnings report in just a few weeks' time, so it may make an official announcement of what this new IP is then.
That said, Evolve was worked on for years before it was announced, so it may be some time before Turtle Rock reveals much at all.
