The Game Awards saw a number of exciting announcements this year, with the first details about a next-generation of games consoles from both Microsoft and Sony starting to air. On the PlayStation front, we have our first look at the first-announced PS5 game: Godfall, from Gearbox and Counterplay Games.
Described as a "looter slasher," like a melée-focused Borderlands, Godfall features heavily-armored heroes with swords and shields, working together to go after some truly monstrous enemies.
"We're thrilled at Gearbox to have been chosen by Counterplay Games to bring their creative vision of Godfall to gamers on the PlayStation 5 and PC," said Steve Gibson, president of Gearbox Publishing. "As we continue our mission to entertain the world, Godfall is a perfect fit with Gearbox Publishing. Playing with your friends and gearing up are some of the things we love most."
The game will be a PC and PS5 exclusive at launch, so no PS4 port and no Xbox gameplay either. However, the game will also be an Epic Store exclusive for a year, so if you want to play this at all close to its close of 2020 debut, you'll need a PS5 or the Epic Games launcher.
