The last patch for GTA V caused a lot of issues for players, with many around the world suffering crippling frame rate drops due to what seemed to be problems with the Ill-Gotten Gains DLC pack. To correct that, Rockstar has released another patch. This one seems to have done the job.
However, apparently Rockstar couldn't figure out how to fix up the FPS problems without affecting some single player experiences. Some single player mods may break under the new system, though Rockstar is now working on fixing that problem.
"We also received some reports linking decreased performance when using Story Mode mods to TU 1.28. As mentioned previously, we are not actively targeting players using mods in Story Mode, nor are we explicitly implementing protections against them in-game," Rockstar said in a statement.
"Our primary focus is on protecting GTA Online against modifications that could give players an unfair advantage, disrupt gameplay, or cause griefing. However, as a reminder, mods are still unauthorized and as such, Title Updates may cause Story Mode mods to behave in unexpected ways because they are not supported or tested, and players run them at their own risk."
To apologise to players for the problems faced lately in the game, Rockstar has been giving people cash and RP bonuses if they stick with and play the game even with the issues that they've faced lately. It's not known if those bonuses will continue now that the frame rate issues have been cleared up.
