Microsoft is pushing hard with its new marketing for the Xbox One X, highlighting its power over everything else. The new system is undoubtedly the most powerful console that's ever been released, but is that performance going to translate into a better gaming experience?
The new commercials Microsoft is pushing certainly want you to think so. Its new advert is filled with stunning 4K images from some of the platform's biggest and prettiest games. Of course, massive Microsoft investment property, Minecraft, is thrown in there too, despite it benefitting much less than other titles with the upgrade to 4K resolutions.
Other notable games within the trailer include the upcoming Assassin's Creed: Origins, Forza Motorsport 7, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Halo 5: Guardians, the latest NFL and Fifa games, as well as a couple of shots from PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and Shadow of War.
That's not to say that Microsoft focused exclusively on games with its trailer though. It also took a second to highlight how the Xbox One X's 4K support also extends to movies, with a quick shot from Alien 3. That seemed like a strange addition considering the movie's age (released in 1992) and its reception hardly being stellar.
Now if it was doing a 4k port of Alien Isolation, maybe that would make more sense.
The Xbox One X will release on November 7 with a price tag of $500.
