Ten days after the game's reveal, Square Enix posted a Rise of the Tomb Raider FAQ in order to clarify the confusion that surrounded Microsoft's announcement that the game is "an Xbox timed exclusive."
The FAQ clarifies that the upcoming Tomb Raider title will be released on Xbox 360 and Xbox One in Holiday 2015. The game will remain exclusive to those consoles for a yet-undisclosed period before Square Enix is allowed to release it on any other console.
The FAQ isn't really clear on whether a PC version will be released alongside the Xbox versions or within the Microsoft exclusivity period.
In the end, the FAQ apologized for "all the indirect language" used until now. "We certainly didn’t intend to cause any confusion with the announcement," it reads . "The Microsoft Gamescom stage was a great place to make the initial announcement, but not necessarily to go into details."
