World of Warcraft fans can return to one of the MMORPG's best starting zones with a new mod for Baldur's Gate 3.
News in brief
- The fan-made mod lets WoW fans return to Tirisfal Glades.
- A teaser for the mod is out, showing off new quests, NPCs, a dungeon, and more.
- The mod's current version is just a demo of what's coming in future updates.
The "Forsaken" mod for Baldur's Gate 3 was created by "SquallyDaBeanz" and takes place in Tirisfal Glades, the Undead starting zone from World of Warcraft. The creator posted a teaser on their YouTube a few days ago showing off the Deathknell Zone.
Though the mod isn't yet fully released, there's already loads for WoW fans to get stuck into, including a town and dungeon to explore, party camp, original combat encounters, and NPCs with unique dialogue.
The mod's creator says this is designed to act as a demo and is just a small part of what will eventually be a larger campaign. In future updates, we can expect to see merchants, puzzles, loot, skill checks, and other additions.
The demo should take around 60-90 minutes to complete, according to its creator.
It's Tirisfal Glades, but not as you know it
WoW fans might be expecting a perfect recreation of Tirisfal Glades, but this mod won't feel exactly like the MMORPG. World of Warcraft and Baldur's Gate 3 are two very different titles, with their own mechanics, gameplay, and systems. The version of Tirisfal Glades players will explore in the mod is built around BG3's systems, but it's still a nostalgia trip.
To get started, you can download the custom campaign from Nexusmods and start a new game after creating your character.
Following the release of Baldur's Gate 3's cracked modding tools last fall, we've seen loads of exciting custom campaigns pop up, like the ambitious Path to Menzoberranzan mod that's currently in development.
