According to the Telegraph, Sony has ordered enough parts to make one million Playstation 3 units in the third quarter of this year, twice as many as in the last three months.
Earlier reports have confirmed that Sony has managed to cut down the Playstation 3 manufacturing costs by 70%. Those reports were then confirmed by Sony Corp CEO and executive vice president Nobuyuki Oneda.
Both facts prompted speculation that Sony is planning to release a slim version of the console in the near future.
