Sources in the Mac world are circulating rumors that Apple is working on an Apple TV successor and an update for the existing lineup to add gaming capabilities.
According to Mark Gurman of , the next Apple TV "will include a revamped operating system that is likely to be based on iOS." The set-top box will also "include new types of content," possibly including games.
Apple is also experimenting with new input methods for the new Apple TV. Some sources are talking about using Siri for voice command in addition to Kinect-like gesture control using Apple's recently acquired PrimeSense technology. Other sources are speaking of Bluetooth gamepad support for better gaming experience.
The new Apple TV is expected to launch in the first half of 2014.
