Sony announced the PlayStation Official League, an eSports platform for PlayStation 4.
The platform launched today in Spain with other countries to follow shortly. The service is available for PS Plus subscribers, and is being supported by a number of third-party publishers. Games such as Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, War Thunder and FIFA 15 will be supported as soon as they launch and support for "plenty of other games" will be added soon.
PlayStation Official League allows players to climb up the ranks in "seasons" that span over a few weeks or months and reap rewards at the end. There is no word yet regarding North American launch date.
