Famous for hosting the launch events for Playstation 2, PSP and Playstation 3, the one and only Playstation Store will close its doors by the end of March.
America's only Sony Playstation Store as well as a Sony Style store has been hosted in the Metreon Shopping Complex for nearly 10 years. The complex was sold to the Westfield Group and real estate company Forest City Enterprises in 2006, though Sony kept its stores operating until now.
"Our lease with the Metreon for the PlayStation Store will expire this summer and we have chosen not to renew it," Sony spokesperson stated.
Sony Style Store's lease will expire on March 31st.
