Star Wars Outlaws was promised a lot of changes after its launch, and fixes we have received. This big new patch for Outlaws makes a lot of changes, including a bunch of quality of life alterations, including a big one for grenade throwing. But the biggest change for most people is likely to be the change that makes it easier to keep Kay on her speeder.
News in brief
- Star Wars Outlaws' big new patch is out
- It makes a lot of fixes and changes to the game
- Chief amongst which is altering how easy it is to fall off the speeder
The patch has "improved speeder collision with the environment to reduce being knocked off the speeder", which basically addresses the fact that Kay was a little bit slippery in the ol' saddle, and would fall off due to any old issue, like slamming into a tree. As other sites have noted, Key coming off due to collisions was realistic, for sure, but it seems as if a lot of players would much rather have a slightly less realistic experience that's not as annoying. Another speeder-related fix means it won't act so silly when you call it, skidding all over the place and stopping far away. So it's all around a big patch for speeder fans.
But the patch isn't just about your speeder, there are a bunch of bug fixes included. Key to these are changes to how stealth works, which should hopefully mean the AI won't be quite as dumb when it comes to figuring out where you are, and actually responding when you set grenades off. Speaking of grenades, there's now a quick throw button for controllers, which means you won't have to dive into a menu to throw a grenade. Because, y'know, it's not 1999 any more.
The patch is a hefty one, and you can access all of the patch notes right here. Be aware that this is just the start of a lengthy series of patches for Star Wars Outlaws, so if you were previously put off by the state of the game, it's worth keeping an eye on it in the coming months.
