You know about tags right? The thing that every website has used for years to help link content together and make it easier to search for? Well Steam has finally caught up and added them too, though they're controlled by the gamers themselves, so as you might expect, there have been a few humorous uses.
While there are still plenty of games where you'd expect them to be, with games like Warframe and 7 Days to Die showing up in the action tag list, and South Park: Stick of Truth and Octodad sitting at the top of the comedy section, you might be surprised what you find in others. For example, in garbage, you'll notice that right alongside Infestation: Survivor Stories, there's Call of Duty: Ghosts. In casual, right next to the Sims, is Dark Souls.
Not everyone is taking this to a silly extreme, but there are some bizarre categories for those that want to get really specific with their gaming. There's tags for Jack Black games, tags for "Bad," games, "Overrated," games, "Walking Simulators" and much more.
There is a slightly problem with it at the moment, in that the games themselves refuse to scroll, so the most you can look at for each category is nine, but it's a start at least.
It seems like it might need to get over some teething issues, but do you guys think there's potential for the Steam tagging system?
