Streaming WoW or Hearthstone could net you big money

Streaming has become a real job for a lot of gamers over the past couple of years. Whether you're the size of PewDiePie pulling millions in advertising revenue a year, or one of the smaller guys making a few thousand bucks as a side gig, people are making money streaming. However streaming games of WoW and Hearthstone is netting some people big money as a wealthy viewer by the name of Amhai is gifting thousands of dollars to people that stream those particular games.

As DailyDot reports, the man has given away over $100,000 in the last year alone, purportedly because he likes to see the reactions of players, but presumably he's a fan of these games too, as they seem to be where he hangs out the most.

Usually he starts off small, donating $1,000 or so to a streamer, supposedly to see how they react. If they do so in a manner he judges as worthy of more, he'll up the ante and donate more and more. Some streamers have received over $50,000 from him over several months of streaming.

One streamer, Byron "Reckful" Bernstein became friends with the man (who still has an unconfirmed identity) after the donation and said that he is just a very wealthy individual who likes to see the reactions of people when he donates the money to them.

Bernstein also debunked the rumour that Amhai was a wealthy oil baron, stating that he was anything but.
