Larien is celebrating 100 million Baldur's Gate 3 mod downloads with a reference to one of the game's cheekiest mods.
News in brief
- A post by Larian on X showed an unusually chesty Withers.
- The post included a link to the Withers Big Naturals mod, now on PC, Mac, and consoles.
- Modding for Baldur's Gate 3 landed on consoles in October.
The Withers Big Naturals mod has been available from NexusMods on PC since April 2024, but mod support didn't land on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 until Patch 7 in October, when Baldur's Gate 3's modding scene really took off. It was starting to look like console players would never get access to one of the game's silliest mods, but that's all changed.
The patch added an official in-game mod manager on PC and console, making it far easier than ever before to install mods. It was so popular, it was used to download more than 1 million mods in the 24 hours after launch.
On Tuesday morning, Larian revealed that the mod manager has been used to download 100 million mods, an epic milestone for the RPG.
In a post on X, Larian shared an image referencing Withers Big Naturals, one of the game's silliest mods, which gives the undead companion an enhanced bust. Larian carefully placed the zeroes in "100" over the character's chest, with the "You are modding naturals" caption and a link to the mod.
The developer also shared a link to its Channel from Hell YouTube channel's modding playlist, which includes explainer videos for those new to mods on console.
Players will find a mod for pretty much anything in BG3, from those that make gameplay more interesting to custom dice — and the modding scene is definitely keeping the game fresh 18 months after release.
Don't forget to read the description carefully for every mod before installing it. While the mod manager does the hard work, it's still vital to ensure you're not downloading two mods that are incompatible with each other!
